Summer Legislative Interim Committee on Hospice & Palliative Care in Colorado

Established by a Joint Resolution in the 2009 term of the Colorado Delegate Assembly, a Summer Legislative Interim Committee met 6 times this summer and into the fall to examine issues of access, quality, ethics, and provision of end-of-life care across the state.

Colorado Center for Hospice & Palliative Care assisted the committee chair, Rep. Jim Riesberg, in setting the agenda and identifying experts to offer presentations to the committee. The committee membership, minutes and reports are also available on the Legislative Committee webpage.

At the October 20 meeting, five bills were approved by the Committee to be introduced into the 2010 Legislative session. Advance Care Planning Community Presentations Project
The Colorado Center for Hospice & Palliative Care Advance Care Planning and Education Committees are looking for health care professional to join our statewide project in advance care planning education for the public.

The Center will provide training, materials, tools, and support to all presenters, including monthly conference calls to answer questions and share results. All we ask is that you attend the training (via Internet Webinar) and deliver at least 2 presentations over a calendar year!
